چکیده
the 60 apparently common carp, cyprinus carpio (mean weight 700g.) divided to two groups (1:control and 2: test) and transferred to 1000 liter indoor fiberglass tanks supplied with static well water, continuous aeration and defined water quality. test group was exposed to 30ppb (low concentration) cadmium as cdcl 2 (merck) control group was without cadmium addition . blood samples were caught randomly from 5 fish in each group with duplicate, by using exsanguination of caudal vein at the day 15 and 30 after exposure. the hematological parameters such as: wbc , rbc, differential count, hematocrit - total protein , albumin , and globulin concentrations , the albumin- globulin ratio and levels of serum enzymes such as: ldh , alt , ast and alp were monitored. the results revealed that white blood cell (wbc: x 104 /µl) count decreased significantly (p< 0.05) from 3.98 ± 1.32 in group 1 (control , non-exposed to cadmium) to 2.52 ± 0.3 in group 2 (test , exposed to cadmium) on the 15th day post exposure. also , the wbc count significantly (p < 0.05)decreased in test group from 2.52 ± 0.3 on the 15th day post exposure to 1.7±0.33 on the 30th day post exposure. based on results the level of ldh enzyme (u/l) after 30 days exposure , in control group 430±69.35 significantly (p

Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio
The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) belongs to the family Cyprinidae. In nature, carp live in the middle or lower reaches of a river with slow currents, or in marshes. Their habitats are usually weedy areas with a muddy bottom. Carp fry feed on zooplankton such as rotifers and copepods, but as they grow up they become benthic feeders, feeding on animals and other organic material. The cyprinids h...

Distribution ! e common carp [Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus (1758)] has been one of the oldest domesticated species of fi sh for food. Culture of carp in China dates back to at least the 5th century BC, although domestication began much later. ! e European races of carp derived from wild carp of the Danube; the earliest attempts date back to the Roman Empire and spread of Christianity in Europe, fro...
متن کاملThe Impact of Toxic Heavy Metals on the Hematological Parameters in Common Carp (cyprinus Carpio L.)
The aim of the present investigation was to determine the effect of heavy metal pollutants such as cadmium, chromium, nickel and lead in aquatic system on common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) by using a set of biochemical parameters. The experimental group of fish was exposed to a sublethal concentration of 5 mg/L of combined (Cd+Pb+Cr+Ni) metal solution containing 1.25 mg/L of each metal ion (1/10...
متن کاملBiochemical changes of antioxidant enzymes in common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) after heavy metal exposure
Accidental industrial spills may lead to a high concentration of toxic metals in the aquatic environment, as well as affecting freshwater ecosystems with acute and chronic toxicity. Of all aquatic species, fish are particularly sensitive to waterborne contamination and are recognized as bioindicators for water quality monitoring. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the biochemica...
متن کاملEffect of dietary supplementation of Artemisia annua extract on some hematological and serum biochemical parameters of common carp (Cyprinus carpio)
The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary Artemisia annua extract on the hematological and blood serum indexes of common carp (Cyprinus carpio). Fish with average initial weight (90.32± 1.12) were fed diets supplemented with graded levels 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 % of extract (T1, T2, T3 and T4) for 60 days. At the end of this period, The results showed that growth rate increa...

Starvation periods of fish in during the developmental stages on growth indices and blood factors can be affected. The effects of compensatory growth on growth indices and physiological responses (glucose, total protein and cholesterol), study for 8 week investigated in Juveniles of common carp (Cyprinus carpio). The fish were divided in 4 experimental groups with initial weight (13/88±0/88 gr)...
